Take out was fast and delicious!! The portions were perfect (veggie combo with meat for two). Usually it takes a long time to get Ethiopian food (no matter at restaurant or take out). This was read in 20-30 minutes!
Very nice people and the food is great. I recommend the Mama Africa Special or the Veg Combo. I also love that you can order ahead and it is consistently ready by the time you get there.
My husband chose this place to celebrate our wedding anniversary and am I glad he did! What wonderful food and hospitality. We felt so welcome and appreciated. It felt like a visit with friends. What a lovely couple. Thank you so much. We look forward to our next visit.
Best Ethiopian food in area for sure, wet doro is the best, the gentleman who served us is really respectful, helpful and nice, this is our new spot for Ethiopian food definitely coming back
This is a wonderful restaurant! The food is so delicious and the owners are amazingly nice people who take great care of you! The sambusas are phenomenal appetizers and the lamb tibs is such a great meal - incredibly tasty and filling!
I little surprised at how many 5 star ratings there were. The place is good, but not extraordinary. Ethiopian is my favorite food of all time. And I've been to a good handful of places. Usually Ethiopian food is super flavorful - sometimes with a little spice sometimes with a lot. We got the veggie platter and I found it to be a little bland. So I was a bit disappointed. And the veggie plate didn't come with collard greens or lentils - bummer. The lamb tibs were excellent. Spicy, but perfect for me. I ordered another meal to go (can't remember the name) and it was a bit too spicy for my wife.
Service was good and the food came out rather timely, compared to other Ethiopian restaurants I have been to. There is also a nice selection of coffee's, latte's, espressos, etc. The ambiance and restaurant is quaint and appealing. But the bathroom could use a little work.
In conclusion, if this place is nearby, it's a great stop in joint. Otherwise, if you're looking for the absolute best Ethiopian in town, perhaps consider going elsewhere. If you're looking to try someplace new and want pretty decent Ethiopian food for a decent price, check these guys out.

We discovered Mama Africa by accident while driving on Leetsdale. It is a wonderful restaurant great Ethiopian food. Highly recommended. The couple who own Mama Africa have provided a clean, comfortable restaurant with a welcoming atmosphere, and the food and coffee are amazing.
I love Ethiopian food. I've eaten at just about every Ethiopian restaurant in Denver, and many many elsewhere in the world too. Mama Africa rivals the best that I have had. They clearly take pride and care with their food, and the service is top notch too. The establishment is very clean and inviting, the owner was delightful to talk to, and the food was delicious. What more can you ask for? I had lentil sambusa and the special kitfo, both were fantastic. I loved it so much I ordered lamb tibs to go, which were equally devine. Will definitely be back for more, soon!!!
