Absolutely delicious, highly recommend if you're craving Ethiopian Food (and especially if you've never tried it). Get the shiro!
My partner and I originally went across the street to Queen of Sheba, but experienced the rudest service. Upon walking in we were reminded that the restaurant closes in 30 minutes and that we could have called in advance to let them know we were coming. We were then asked if we were from out of town. I said no. Then she informed us that the prices on the menu were outdated and that we would be paying upwards of 50% more. I didn't feel welcome and I felt like I was being taken advantage of. I nervously agreed to the price gouging, but after 5 minutes of feeling exploited I stood up and informed her that I would be leaving. She followed me to the parking lot demanding that I give her a dollar for the coca cola I didn't drink.
Now for the positive part of this review: Mesob! Where Queen of Sheba failed, Mesob shined. I felt welcome immediately upon walking through the door. The server greeted me with a smile and the prices on the menu were up-to-date and fair. The restaurant was also larger, decorated nicer, and has a bar! The food was excellent, hands down the best Ethiopian in Denver. I will definitely be back to Mesob again and again.
Really good Ethiopian food with great staff. I learned about this hidden gem by a coworker and will definitely come back for more. Great options for food at reasonable prices and friendly staff, plus plenty of parking across the street. BK
Awesome. Ordered both veggie combo and meat combo and all of it was delicious. Service was great; I agree with one of the previous comments that they treat you like family with very friendly service.
Mesob is my go-to for Ethiopian food! They have great meat and vegetable combos. The kitfo is also very good. An added bonus is they're usually open later than many other restaurants (last call around 10:45), and they have excellent Ethiopian beers, including Habesha.
The food was amazing! Got the vegetarian sampler, the bread used to eat everything with is gluten free and every dish was delicious. The yellow split peas blew me away. Cant wait to come back for the next round.
My wife and I went eat dinner her when we were visiting Denver! Food was awesome! Authentic Ethiopian Cuisine at its best. The vibe was awesome as well. We would recommend this spot!!!!
Not as good as I remember from when I lived right near by in 2021 but still good. I got doro wot which was my go to back then too because it was much better here than at Lucy or Queen of Sheba (though those restaurants did lamb and veggies better respectively). Stew could have been more spiced in my opinion (I added a bit more berbere when I got home) and I also like my injera more sour than it was. The chicken drumstick itself was juicy and cooked really nicely though.
Fantastic, excellent food. We easily cleaned our plates. The veggie combo could use a little more variety but that's a nitpick as far as I'm concerned.
Great food, atmosphere, and service. Glad we stopped in this eve. Ordered the Sambusas and veggie and meat samplers and both were outstanding. Will be back!
