Ethiopian food is great! Lucys certainly delivers outstanding flavors. Completely recommend Lucy's - break from the normal! Come eat with your hands like God intended you to ? Also, try the espresso it's chocolatey and amazing. We ordered beef and the veggie combo and it shows up on one plate, amazing flavors. Yes, it's on Colfax, so maybe do delivery, although we felt safe the whole time. The place is warm and inviting with cool Ethiopian stuff. And at one point she roasted some coffee beans and the whole place smelled like good coffee. This place is great for a change of pace!

I love this place!!! I'm not Ethiopian and can't speak to authenticity but I am South Indian and this is comfort food for me. I always order the veggie combo and have never been disappointed. The injera has always been deliciously soft and flavorful without being overly sour, and all the dishes are wonderfully seasoned and cooked. I love being able to feel like I got something close to dosai, paruppu, keerai, and muttaigos koottu without going to an Indian restaurant and being severely disappointed. The food at this restaurant feels like home food to me, especially because it's not greasy! Oh and I always see tons of Ethiopian people in there so that's gotta be a good sign?

I'm pregnant and this has been my craving/comfort food without having access to mom food. I always feel like I had a hearty and healthy meal!

We got takeout during an overnight stay in Denver. The menu was varied and the food was tasty. There are a number of Ethiopian restaurants in this part of town; we chose this one and were pleased.

My steak was the best I've had in a very long time. Service was prompt and attentive, they anticipated all our needs. All apps, entrees and desserts were delicious!

If you haven’t tried this cuisine before then this is the perfect place to try. It seems like a lot of locals frequent this spot and for good reason. I got their beef and veggie platter and it was really good. The flavors weren’t crazy overpowering and it seemed healthy too. I like how it comes in a big platter to share. This was a home run but I wish they had lamb when I went. Guess I’ll have to come again. Oh and the sambusa was very flaky and crispy. Highly recommend starting off with those.

Unassuming but smart restaurant. The ambience is very basic but tasteful. The food was fresh and hot off the stove, and delicious. We haven’t been to too many Ethiopian restaurants but would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to try their cuisine.

Be very patientence it took over an hour to get food! 25 min for water!
But it was all worth it! Yummy

We live in Denver and have some friends coming from Nevada who love Ethiopian food. We took them to Lucy and we loved it. The veggie combo was amazing and we added the shiro (it was my favorite). The restaurant is very clean and has a very nice atmosphere. We'll come back more often because we rate it as an outstanding restaurant in town. I strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to try this type of food or to someone who already love it.

The food was awesome. It was my first time eating Ethiopian food and we met some friends here because they love it. We all really enjoyed it, especially the Shiro. You will be Very full when you leave, just a heads up.

The most delicious Ethiopian food I've had in a long time. Everything tasty and flavorful. I've had Ethiopian food in LA and tried the one in Colorado Springs, this is the best I've had. I wonder if Ethiopian food in Denver is just better than everywhere else.
