Apparently Salt Lake City does have great Ethiopian food! My wife and I got the Mahider Platter for 2" and loved every bit of it. Can't wait to come back! Can you please open a second location in Ogden? ;)
Amazing food, friendly staff. Highly recommend the Taste of Mahider and the Kitfo!!! While you wait for your food, research the Coffee Ceremony that they do. It would be such an amazing experience.
One of the best meals I've ever had. We got the Mahider Special for two people and it was more than the two of us could eat, so we had leftovers (which was great). Everything on the platter was delicious and we loved having a variety of things to try. I will definitely go again!
Probably the best place to eat in SLC. I lived 9 years in the city and Mahider was never surpassed by any other restaurant. Always recommend it to everyone. Delicious fresh food, decent prices, large portions. I highly suggest the veggie combo and the lamb tibs. Thank you guys for all the awesome meals and service over the years.
Love this place! I've taken my friends and family there several times and no one was ever disappointed. Stay in or take out, the atmosphere is brilliant, the food is tasty, some fantastic vegetarian options too!
Love this place! Parking is usually easy, very nice staff, and, of course delicious food with great portions! I have gotten the vegetarian combo once, and since then the Yemisir Alicha (pictured) because it was my favorite of the veggie dishes. I need to try more stuff, but the yemisir alicha is just my favorite!
Food here was fabulous. All of the staff was very helpful. You could tell they had regulars. Be prepared to eat with your hands, although if you ask nicely they will bring silverware. If you are new to Ethiopian try the sampler plater for $16. A lot of vegan and vegetarian friendly dishes. When they say spicy, they mean well seasoned.

We ordered food for 2, rich flavour and colors! Traditionally, people use only their hands to eat, so don't expect silver wear! Great experience great service!!!
The best Ethiopian restaurants in the US! The owner is so friendly and the food is always incredible. Great Ethiopian beer selection too.
