Hugo's

I swear, in all of Houston this is the only place that knows how to make a proper margarita: tequila, lime juice and an orange liqueur, put the ingredients into a cocktail shaker, shake and serve in a cocktail glass, either up or on the rocks. That's it. I prefer it served up.

The food is outstanding and it's not Tex-Mex. Definitely going back.

Delicious! Absolutely delicious! The ceviche and the chicken taquitos were excellent appetizers. The Caesar salad was kicked up a notch with the jalapeños (nice touch!). The pork shank was impressive and tender. And, the chocolate cake was the perfect way to finish the meal. Definitely recommend.

I haven't been to Hugo's in a long time. But if I can say that the times that my husband and I have wanted to go, it is to eat the octopus tacos, they are delicious and it makes me want to go again. See you soon

The chef and the staff have a lot of talent on display here. The entries have deep, complex tastes, especially the mole sauce. Drinks were on point ... mezcal old fashioned anyone? Atmosphere is meant to impress, so bring that special person and your A game.

We've been to Caracol so we decided to check out Hugo's and wow. We were so impressed with all the dishes and the presentation ? the crispy duck dish was out of this world! We will for sure be back again for more. Our server, Liz was wonderful.

I came here for dinner. The restaurant did not disappoint. The atmosphere was elegant. The appetizers were tasty. I had octopus and stuffed plantanes. I could have eaten three plates of this. The entrees were outstanding. The presentation spoke for itself. I will definitely be back - especially for the appetizers.

Wow. This was the best meal I’ve had in a long while. We initially thought we “weren’t hungry” and were just going to order a few appetizers. Well, between the five of us we put away four apps, four entrees (I liked the barbacoa the best) and five desserts and an assortment of drinks. The desserts truly knocked it out of the park. Thankfully someone in our party asked if they had tres leches as it wasn’t on the menu. I’ve never been a big fan of tres leches as it’s usually cloyingly sweet but this one was sooo good. We honestly considered coming back the next night just for the tres leches.

This is authentic Mexican food (although high-end). The ambiance isn’t the greatest but the food, the cocktails, and the service is amazing. Jesus G. was our sever. He was extremely proud and knowledgeable about Mexican food and drinks. He knew the history behind much of what we ate and drank and came up with great recommendations. He definitely went above and beyond to make our experience very special. I would highly recommend Hugo’s for upscale casual Mexican fare. Impecable good and service!

Hugo's is by far my favourite restaurant in Houston. The atmosphere, the food and especially the people keep me coming back.
The people work hard, have fun and are passionate about what they do. And that is the secret sauce as that results in delicious meals, great and personal service. Highly recommended!
