Made a reservation a few months in advance and indicated I was celebrating a “friend-anniversary”
We enjoyed a seat at the bar with a cocktail while they prepared our table. I ordered a glass of wine and my friend tried the watermelon drink on special. Both were great and the bartenders had a warm energy.
When we were seated, there was a nice yellow ribbon on our table which was a nice gesture. The decor is classic but I also updated at the same time. The waiting area and bar have an aged feel to them which adds to the charm.
The HRW tasting menu was an absolute steal! The crab cake was fresh and crispy, filet mignon “Oscar style” was one of the best cuts of meats I’ve ever had. My desert was flambéed table side, which was a nice way to end the meal.
My only complaint was the cadence in which our meals were given. We had two servers and one of them noticed the lack of attention and certainly made up for it. I will still give them five stars since it was a busy Friday night and they were packed, even after closing time.
Fantastic experience at Brennan's. Our waiter Travis was incredibly energetic and really did an awesome making us feel like we were the only customer's in the restaurant. Next time we visit, hopefully in September for your Wine and Dine special, we're asking for Travis. Thank you so much.
The food was so good. The three course meal had some great options. This was my first time having beignets and I was left very impressed. The shrimp and grits was the best. Do mind the dress code and go all out!
First timers and my husband and I had a great experience, excellent food and not to mention our Server Brandon "well there was 2 Brandon's that served us tonight" I want to THANK them both for there amazing customer service! You made our 30th Anniversary extra special!?? Mr & Mrs Santos
Came here for a friend's birthday brunch and absolutely loved it. Our waiter Joe was very personable and made us laugh quite a bit. We came during Houston Restaurant Week and I ordered Brennan's Boudin for my appetizer, for my main course I had Shrimp and Grits. The boudin was one large ball which isn't what I was expecting, but it was so delicious! The shrimp and grits were amazing as well.
My friend had Bananas Foster for dessert and they cook it in front of your table which I thought was pretty cool! Another employee named Brandon cooked it for us and he did excellent!
Food was a bit pricey. The place is not as elegant as it use to be. For such an upscale place, they should not allowed people with short shorts and crocs to dine. There should be some type of dress code. There was a young lady wirh her behind coming out of her shorts sitting next to us.
Excellent service, great food, wonderful ambiance. I took my girlfriend from high school here for prom. It was great then and it's even better than I remembered. This is the go-to place in Houston for a major celebration or bringing in honored guests from out of town.
Beautiful atmosphere, very friendly and attentive staff. Had limited menu but very tasty everything we received. Would definitely recommend for brunch or any special event, and valet is a plus. Love it thank you for a great evening.
Food was amazing and fresh! Our waiters were excellent! The atmosphere was intimate and elegant. Kid friendly too! The interior looks reminded me of the French quarters back home in New Orleans. 10/10 definitely recommend!
Brennan's of Houston is an institution. For 55 years it's been a go to staple for many Houstonians, either for business lunches, celebrations, or their famous jazz brunch. Their Menu is seasonally changing but it's famous for many staples. It is the go to place for Classic Dishes like Seafood Towers, Alligator Snapping Turtle Soup, Chicken Pontabla, Shrimp Chippewa and Bananas Foster. But it is also known for new classics like their Legendary Crawfish Enchilada.
