Food was good got the baby back rib dinner with beans and coleslaw. Beans were superb. Coleslaw delicious. ribs were the best I’ve had. Our server iman was great. Highly recommend will be coming back
Amazing burnt end sandwich! Always great service... but come on guys can we clean the ceiling vents....felt like it was snowing dust
We were looking for some good authentic Kansas City barbecue, and it was a Sunday, so several places were closed. We decided to try Smokehouse Barbecue because they were open. Everything was excellent, although my husband's pulled pork sandwich was on the dry side. That, of course, was an easy fix when all you need to do is add more authentic Kansas City barbecue sauce. I ordered the burnt ends, which in my opinion, is the best way to enjoy authentic barbecue and the beans were excellent! The restaurant is beautifully decorated with a gorgeous stained glass oval in the ceiling. I would like to give a shout-out to our waiter. I don't remember his name, but he was a young man. He was new there, and he was excellent! He was so helpful in explaining menu items, was very attentive to our needs, and he had such a sweet and gentle disposition which helped immensely in providing us with a pleasurable dining experience! He should be recognized. The shift was Sunday, August 14, just before closing. We sat in the middle of the restaurant, directly in line with the door, table of 3.
I got the lunch combo it was really good I actually was full and I have leftovers. Normally I eat all my food so it's a good thing for me. Service was actually really good our waiter knew the menu he didn't even write it down, and we were in and out in no time.
This was the only BBQ place I have been to in KC but this was very good. We went on a Saturday night. No wait and got seated and drinks ordered quickly. I had the Ribs and Ribs plate with pork and beef. The beef ribs had plenty of meat and very tender. A little too much sauce for me but the sauce was good. I read a review that they boil their meat. I didn't find that the pork was too mushy or soft. I like a bit of chew to rib meat and this had that without being too dry. Beans and mac and cheese were very good. I didn't care for the pork burnt ends. The meat seemed too lean but it was a nice starter.
Our introduction to KC BBQ recommended by a local. We were very pleased with everything.
Delicious
Good servers. Good drinks. Fried pickle appetizers were different but good. BBQ is pretty good. I would put it on the KC list around 4 or 5. Burnt ends and brisket was savory but just not as good as some others. Chicken breast here is one of my favorites if you like smoked chicken definitely check it out. To be fair I have not had their ribs in many years mostly because I typically don't get ribs.
It was a little dry, but, otherwise tasty. :-)
