My wife and I just had a very last minute “pop up”virtual wedding.... I know it’s nuts but let me tell you something Tanya and the mambo room family made it come to life and gave us more than what I had expected. We are a lesbian couple at that and the mambo room never made us feel uncomfortable or just not accepting, so thank you for that as well because not everyone makes us feel like that. Our family was all over zoom and our officiant as well. The mambo room’s zoom allowed 1,000 people to join if we needed that (we sure didn’t) but that was great; they also provided different camera view for our audience which was more than perfect. It was magical, it was perfect and they made sure our day was just beyond greatness. I love this location, I love the energy everyone provides there, the inside is just dreamy and that bridal suite is to die for. I was treated like a queen and constantly getting checked on to make sure I was doing ok. I wouldn’t trade our experience for the world and I recommend this beautiful location to all seriously. Thank you mambo room family for everything, we will never forget this beautiful day. I love you guys.

First of all let me thank my Lord for making a way out of no way. Mambo Room Cultural Dance has come through for my family and I on Valentines Day. My honey suggested that we go to Mambo Room after our plans to attend another restaurant failed. Moving forward, Suga Bear and I have been here for two of our date nights and had an AMAZING time. The staff is professional, the food is great, oh and let me tell you the restrooms are so clean and stocked with all you need to refresh yourself. I love this place soooo much! Our children had a great time. They call it a "fancy restaurant " ??. It was 6 of us total and we had the room to ourselves. They decorated the table and the added bonus.... the children were excited to have dance lessons. I highly recommend Mambo Room Cultural Dance to everyone seeking to experience a special occasion or just simply getting out the house and release stress in the midst of a pandemic. Yes, it is safe and they follow CDC Guidelines. So if you are looking for a good time consider going to the Mambo Room, you will not be disappointed.

When I first attended Date Night at the Mambo Room, I was captivated by the beauty of this venue. Wow! What a first impression as we walked through the door. My date and I were greeted by a friendly server who took our order and brought us our drinks. The food was delicious; the Puerto Rican Chicken & Rice is among one of my favorites. They have an open bar with a wide variety of wines and beers. They also have non-alcoholic beverages for those who do not drink. After dinner, we enjoyed another drink and a choice of dessert ….. so worth the extra calories.
Several fascinating things occurred that evening. We were entertained with a performance by two incredible dancers who are also instructors at the Studio. Their gracefulness and intricate dance moves was an inspiration. We all had an opportunity to take a group dance lesson, and although we did not transform into performers, it was a lot of fun. I found the dance instructors to be funny, supportive, extremely knowledgeable, and very encouraging. When they opened the floor for social dancing we got to practice some of the cool moves we learned.
The studio adheres to Covid & Space Restrictions so I felt perfectly safe. There are hand sanitizing stations available and masks are required.
If you are looking for a wonderful evening with an elegant ballroom setting, fantastic food, a friendly, positive atmosphere, amazing staff and spectacular service, I recommend you come to a Date Night at the Mambo Room. I am sorry it took me so long to discover this gem. So ladies and gents, I would dust the cobwebs off your dress shoes, put something nice on and be prepared for a date night experience you will remember at a very affordable price.

I attended Mambo Room's Salsa Date Night on December 4th, 2020 and it was such a fun event! The night started off with a delectable menu which included Pernil, Puerto Rican Chicken, Salsa Borracha Beef, and Pork BBQ Sliders. Although they all sounded amazing, I selected the PR Chicken which was absolutely satisfying. The chicken was seasoned just right and cooked to a moist perfection with a healthy portion of rice and sautéed veggies. They also had an open bar so the drinks kept on flowing.

During dinner there was a performance by two phenomenal dancers who also instruct at the Mambo Room (Leroy & Kianda). They demonstrated Salsa On2 social dancing to a fast paced song which had all of us in awe. The grace, precision, and expression in their movements was inspirational. Then they taught all the couples several Salsa moves. The nice part is that they assume no dance experience which makes these events fun for anyone that's never danced before. The instructors are also great about having hand sanitizer readily available and ensuring everyone wears a mask for COVID mitigation.

Finally, the floor is opened up for social dancing and mingling with the others in attendance while desert is served. The Ballroom ambiance was classy and sophisticated and the lighting set the mood perfectly for the night. Overall, I highly recommend this event for a significant other or a friend. The package is well worth the cost and I couldn't have spent my Friday night in a better way. Looking forward to the next Date Night!

Always a wonderful experience in the Mambo Room between Bichata and Salsa. You definitely have to take advantage at the next event!

I had my wedding here 9/12/2020 and i have nothing but good things to say. Of course planning a wedding is hard but it's even worse doing it during a pandemic. Kianda was great; from me crying about being overwhelmed to
making sure my day was perfect. She was extremely supportive and I'll forever be great full. She was very hands on and even shined light on things that i hadnt even thought of. She kept checking in to make sure i was good and had everything i needed. The staff was also amazing. The venue is GORGEOUS and you definitely will get your moneys worth. Book your event here and you won't be disappointed. Thank you for making my day breathtaking and memorable. ?

This place is phenomenal. It is very professional, classy, thorough and clean. It is ideal for date nights and cultural events. The food OMG is amazing!! The ability to decorate is outstanding. Everything here is worth paying for. The staff are friendly and you and your partner can dance to and be taught a variety of dance options. Perfect for date night.

My Niece’s wedding ceremony and reception was absolutely beautiful, breathtaking and flawless at the Mambo room on Sept 12, 2020. Kianda the events coordinator was extremely patient, responsive, flexible, and always professional, and went out of her way to accommodate any and all requests. She also worked tirelessly to make sure everything ran smoothly. Kianda is AMAZING!!!! Mambo room is a hidden gem nestled in the historical Ghent area of Norfolk. I will definitely recommend the Mambo Room to anyone planning wedding or special event. Thank you again Kianda and Mambo room for playing a part of making my Sunshine feel like the true Queen she is on her wedding day. I’m truly looking into taking a few dance classes in the future.

Most memorable birthday ever. Thanks to this wonderful staff and all their Love. They went above and beyond to make me feel special for my birthday with a private intimate dinner and private dance lessons.. The music was great and the vibe and energy was full of LOVE....Thank you Tracey, Kiyanda and staff. You guys made my night❤..We Will definently be returning. ...
