A breathtaking monument reminding of the cruelty of Soviet Russia and the sad and tragic history of Polish soldiers during the Second World War. Combined with the view of Manhattan, it creates an interesting composition, where the past and war are combined with prosperity and modernity.

his is both a powerful and very emotional monument to the brutality endured by the Polish people at the hands of the Soviet occupiers during the Second World War. The statue itself is beautifully crafted but difficult to look at for too long, given the graphic nature of the massacre it depicts.

We remember an interesting place Katyn

Ciekawe miejsce Katyń Pamiętamy

A moving monument in honor of the victims of Katyn and Siberia. Reminding the truth about that part of the story that must not be forgotten.

Przejmujący pomnik ku czci ofiar Katynia i Syberii. Przypominający prawdę o tej części historii, o której nie wolno zapomnieć.

Amazing

I went there for the first time in my life today. The statue has been described as 'shocking' by some... Shockingly awesome'would be more aptly correct! Love it! Respectfully, of course, considering the atrocity it represents.

Standing ten metres tall, this bronze statue memorial to the Katyn massacre creates a stunning foreground image when viewed against the distant backdrop of the Manhattan skyline. An etching remembering other Polish people who were cruelly deported to Siberia is also prominent at its base. Situated on an elegantly paved square, the arched figure in violent death pose lurches agonizingly heavenward and elicits an attentive response from its observers. Tragically eight decades later yet another Russian totalitarian expansionist regime commits more genocidal crimes against humanity in its invasion of the free Sovereign Democratic nation of Ukraine!

Perfectly stated monument to an atrocity of Soviet history that had been hidden for 50 years.
