J. Co Salon & Blo'Dry Bar

I’m tempted to write a novel for y’all to read but in the interest of time, I’ll do my best to mince words quickly. I have been coming to Jco Salon to see its owner, Joshua, since they first opened years ago. I have brought and sent my friends, family members, and my children to Jco and let me just tell you - they produce some of THE best results I have ever seen. Joshua, who tends to my hair, is such an incredible soul AND he is AMAZING at what he does, just like each member of his staff. This review will touch on the various facets found within Jco Salon that I find most notable, so read on.

Environment: Not only is Josh’s salon full of incredible talent AND positivity, but each stylist is amazing, compassionate, and knowledgeable in their craft. Every time I come in here, everyone is smiling, laughing, and having a great time, automatically setting the tone for me to do the same. You’re served beverages (highly recommend the wine - thank me later), good conversation is found in every chair, and each staff member genuinely cares about the quality of their work and how you well like it. They truly want you leaving their establishment looking and feeling better than when you first walked in.

Skill Level: Each stylist has a strong history of study and experience to back their practice. Joshua has studied color theory, taught at the Paul Mitchell school, and KNOWS. HIS. STUFF. He sets the standard for each of his employees with his talent, compassion, creativity, boldness, and accuracy. I don’t ever see Josh with expectations because he knows what’s best for my hair; I just let him maintenance it the best way he deems necessary - that’s just MY tactic, though.

For example, when I booked a coloring appointment with him, we both learned how damaged my hair actually was because I hadn’t been in for so long. Instead, he recommended I do a filler treatment and work on strengthening my hair back up before coloring it, knowing that the color would only damage it further. Of course, he left the decision up to me, but I trust him so I agreed. From there, I did everything he said, maintenance-wise, and started using the filler treatment at home. My hair finally grew back healthy enough for coloring just TWO months later. I booked my color appointment and keratin treatment and he blew it out of the water. My hair has NEVER felt this soft, smooth, and healthy. If you want a stylist that is interested in the integrity of your hair rather than collecting money and sending you on your way, Jco is the place to be.

Integrity: Josh cares more about his salon’s clientele than most would believe. He places his customers first and treats them each like close family. It honestly wouldn’t surprise me if he knew the face and name of every person to walk in his doors - that is how committed he is to customer happiness. He is genuinely a wonderful human being, and from the camaraderie I see between him and his staff, I have no doubt that he is also a wonderful boss and mentor. Josh seeks to impact someone’s life rather than just inspire it; a rare personality trait these days.

In summation, I highly recommend you AT LEAST visit Jco Salon. Stop in and say hey, inquire about their services, and meet their staff! They do it all here, AND I heard their nail gal is A-MAZING. I don’t typically leave reviews (I should really get better about that), but this is one that deserves to be left for them. I’m just so happy I have a salon and a stylist I trust. I’m one of the few that can say that. I’ve never been disappointed here. I’ve never lost confidence in their ability to produce solid work. Not a single time. I have never been more pleased with a salon in my life.

Absolutely loved getting my hair cut here as well as styled for my maternity photo shoot! I also had my makeup done and am so in love with the pics. The staff is always so sweet and I couldn’t recommend them highly enough!

I had the pleasure of finding this salon and was greeted with the upmost respect, Randi handled the phone call and did her best to fit me in immediately, after arriving, my comfort was PRIORITY, Randi offered me coffee, water, or chips, She listened to what i was looking to get done to my hair, and did it to perfection. My son got his haircut by Randi and what can I say other than an awesome experience and haircut. She asked him and me questions throughout the process to ensure we were both happy and that it was to his liking. I highly recommend her services and this establishment! I looked at her portfolio and she seems to have great talent across all aspects of cuts, colors and styles. Hands down the best in the area!

As always I never want to leave after my appt. I'm more than pleased with my services and so relaxed when I leave. Trish is phenomenal.

Lauren is the best! She listens to what your hair goals are and knows how to give you what you want. I would trust her to make suggestions on how to improve my hair health and as a bonus she is a really positive and upbeat person.

ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! As a woman of color I am always hesitant of trying new salons that may not know how to handle my curl type but j.co did an incredible job setting my curls, and offered products specifically for my hair type! My curls took absolutely amazing highly recommend!!!

If you're looking for family feeling Salon with 110% perfection stylist in such a cozy atmosphere... Look no father then here!! Staff is amazing, the owner Joshua has the kindest outgoing professional & friendliest personalities you could ever ask for. And I've found out something very important, your appointment time will either be 5-10 mins early or... Right on time!! Very impressive if you have things to do and set a schedule and expect to meet a schedule!!
