The BEST convention center food I've ever had. Incredible service by the dining team AND conference service side. Whoever runs this place should be very proud of themselves. It was the best experience I had in all of Detroit.
Easy access, nice hall
A true GEM
During a convention or an event that goes for 3 days or more and last 5 hours or more each day the food court should open earlier than 11AM. They can sell breakfast sandwiches, bagels, donuts, fruit cups, coffee and tea. These items are ready to go items. The cost of food was very pricey! The counter that WAS open needed more people to work or a more efficient way of operating for a crowd. All escalators should be functional! During my 4 days there only one escalator was functional for hundreds of people using the escalator at the same time! I'm sure this event was planned well in advance so that issue should've been addressed beforehand. Otherwise the staff was very polite and they did a WONDERFUL job of maintaining the restrooms.
This location has had many makeovers and name changes. It’s beautiful and the views are stunning. They also have Mamava pods for nursing babies/parents. Download the mamava app to unlock the nursing pod. I loved that I was able to attend a function with my kids and not worry about places to feed them or change them being accessible.
The location had ample parking. I always go for the rooftop parking for the view of the Detroit river & ambassador bridge. The entrance is off of third & congress.
The location was fully staffed, secure, and clean.
Just a super well maintained civic center
Beautiful place. They offer large meeting halls and rooms with gala ballrooms of which the UAW took full advantage of using all. This glass structure allowed visitors to enjoy the view of some of Detroit's grand architecture, which is breathtaking.
