BBQ so good you’d think it’s from a five-star restaurant! Not only was there excellent service, but the Trifecta we had ordered was insanely awesome! Easily the best vegan food in Utah.
Vegan barbecue can sometimes be lacking, but Blatchford's is excellent! The sides are wonderful, but don't sleep on all the sauces. Or their rolls!!!
I had the pleasure of picking up Blatch's Backyard BBQ for the first time today. Being from Austin and growing up in Central Texas put me near so many great BBQ joints, and I can say that Blatch's vegan BBQ rivals the best in taste, texture, and presentation. I got a sampling of nearly everything, including the jackfruit, seitan, and Korean BBQ taco special, plus sides of poblano potato salad, slaw, and wood-fired rolls, and finally the original and 2 of the specialty BBQ sauces. Everything was so good that I couldn't decide which was my favorite. I ate way more than I should have because all the food was so tasty! I can't wait to have the leftovers tomorrow and return to Blatch's again soon. I highly recommend giving Blatch's a try. You won't be disappointed.
Delicious vegan and non-vegan options. Definitely recommend grabbing bbq from here. The homemade bbq sauce is amazing!
I'm addicted to the vegan Korean BBQ, slaw and black beans in particular. I LOVE the Korean BBQ sandwich with slaw. It's the best bbq I've had!!
What a treat! My Birthday is in 3 days and I only just found out about Blatch's. I contacted them to see if they had any available orders for the week (fully expecting to be put on a wait list) and thank heaven they were able to fit me in. I literally drove an hour and a half to try their menu and it was with 100% Delight! The owner tried to issue me a discount for my drive and the fact it was a birthday meal but despite his kindness and generosity I paid full price plus a tip ! Specialty food made by individuals with this skill should be rewarded and they should be paid full price for their work. I could not be happier and will be returning soon!
This was absolutely amazing food, so good and such a great experience! The tempeh was by far the best I’ve ever had. It makes it not worth eating any other! Thank you for creating an awesome vegan experience in SLC!
Absolutely incredible BBQ - that just happens to be vegan. Chris, the mastermind behind the barbecue, makes in-house seitan, that is the best I’ve ever had - he then turns that into smoked brisket! Combine that with pulled jackfruit and tempeh burnt ends and you’ve got yourself a trifecta of plant-based meat barbecue deliciousness! His sides, such as smoked cajun- style black beans and a tangy citrus slaw are tasty compliments to the bbq. Do yourself (and the animals) a favor and go get his BBQ! Trust…you won’t be sorry.
Chris is a genius. His vegetarian BBQ blows anything else in SLC out of the water, and fills a niche that was sorely needed.
All of his proteins are moist, flavorful, and homemade. I would recommend the tempeh and jackfruit in particular. I look forward to trying more of what comes out of his kitchen.
I leaned about Blatch’s when I read the Trib article about the vegan smokemaster of SLC. As a 5+ year vegan I was shocked I didn’t know they existed. The current setup meant waiting in a bit of a line to get served up - but everyone was so friendly the wait didn’t feel too bad. Of course, now I know how delicious it is I would wait even longer! My absolute favorite was the jackfruit, but the homemade BBQ sauce is a close second. I also loved the flavor profile of the rolls, but all of the “meats” I tried were exceptional. So glad this place exists & hope they stick around!
